Get ready for the next meetup of our book club! The featured book for this meeting is the international bestseller ‘Lost Connections: Why You’re Depressed and How to Find Hope’, by Johann Hari. This one is a bit more intense than our usual selections, and also potentially a bit more controversial, but still an important read none-the-less. I say this as someone very open about my use of SSRIs. Read more on that at Primer (https://primer.com.au/women-antidepressants-zoloft-australia/)

From the book jacket:

Depression and anxiety are now at epidemic levels. Why? Across the world, scientists have uncovered evidence for nine different causes. Some are in our biology, but most are in the way we are living today.

‘Lost Connections’ offers a radical new way of thinking about this crisis. It shows that once we understand the real causes, we can turn to pioneering new solutions – ones that offer real hope.

At this meetup, we will discuss some of Hari’s insights around depression, anxiety and human connection and how these insights relate to our own lives. This will be a guided conversation, but we’re not going to be super strict about any of it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone 😁
